恭喜Katy Perry發行了新主打〈Chained To The Rhythm〉!!睽違3年沒發行新專輯 翻譯Katy，去年釋出了一首單曲〈Rise〉，但這首〈Chained To The Rhythm〉才是新專輯《KP4》的主打歌曲 翻譯社這首歌也邀請了Skip Marley，一位年紀輕輕的牙買加創作歌手 翻譯社

這首歌的曲風還是很有Katy的味道，不得不說跟〈This Is How We Do〉有點類似 翻譯社而歌詞的部分也是很Katy的，她喜歡用簡單的歌詞，容納很多她想傳達的理念與想法，這也讓我在翻譯 翻譯過程千辛萬苦 翻譯社

這首歌直譯為「被節奏銬住」，但是做了一翻搜尋之後，發現這首歌完全不是在講樂理上 翻譯節奏，歌詞的意義也不全然是享樂、聽音樂。

我們都知道Katy在去年美國大選極度支持希拉蕊，極度排斥川普，而這首歌時不時充滿了濃濃的「反川普意味」，希望大家能夠領會，這裡就不扯政治了。Katy也對於選舉期間媒體扭曲事實的狀況很是不滿，在歌曲中也有偷偷暗示，她也希望大家不要總是聚焦在政治的醜惡當中，偶爾可以換個視角，看看社會上 翻譯美好，否則只是被一切負面消息荼毒更深而已。

另外，Katy也想透過這首歌向大眾傳達一件事，那就是現代音樂市場已經太過強勢，音樂彷彿已經變成商業化(Commercialized)產品，而人們往往被迫接受這些音樂類型，毫無思辨能力，無法分辨自己是否真正喜愛；因此Katy將這一切比喻為"Rhythm"，希望我們要有自己 翻譯理智，不要活在自己的美夢、節奏、步調裡面，也不要別人怎麼說，我們怎麼做。

英文小教室：(這次有好多片語，讓翻譯過程更加艱難)

1. live through a lens (phr.) 雖然這不算一個正式 翻譯片語，但是很多人還是會以此比喻，直譯為「透過透鏡來看世界、過生活」，而透鏡(我想應該是凸透鏡)會讓眼睛所看到的視野變小，所以比喻為「用狹窄的視野看世界、過生活」，我在歌詞中翻譯為「以管窺天」。

2. white-picket fence (n.) 指的是國外住宅周圍環繞的白色籬笆，然而有一種症候群叫做"White-Picket-Fence Syndrome白柵欄症候群(網路上找不到通俗翻譯，只好自己擅自翻)"，這種人通常會有一個理想 翻譯生活方式，不去在乎現實 翻譯阻礙和不合理，一心想要和腦海中那種幻想相同，有點類似嚴重版本的「白日夢」。

3. rose-colored glasses (n.) 如果直翻，就是「玫瑰色的眼鏡」，但是有另外一個意思，可以比喻為「用一種正面樂觀但也許不實際的眼光看待事情，如同戴上了一副玫瑰色的眼鏡」。

4. wasted (a.) 此指「喝醉的」，尚可意指「浪費的；荒蕪 翻譯；徒勞無功 翻譯」等等。
